GRACE

GRACE   “With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and MUCH GRACE was with them all” (Acts4 : 33).   “From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch where they had been  COMMITTED TO THE GRACE OF GOD  for the work they had now completed” (Acts14 : 26). Why was the grace of God so important in the experience of the early Christians? Why did the church in Antioch pray that the GRACE of God would be upon Paul and Barnabas and later on Paul and Silas, as they set out on their missionary journeys?   A. THE MEANING OF GRACE   The most common understanding of the word “grace” is “God’s unmerited favor” in other words, even though we were sinners deserving of judgement God looked upon us in And forgave us.   This however is only half its meaning. It also means “God enabling power”. “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God  our Father who loved us and by his strengthen you in every good deed a

FAITH

FAITH   Faith has always been the mark of a disciple of Jesus. The early disciples were knows as BELIEVERS. Jesus said: “Everything is possible for him who believes” (Mark9 : 23).   Faith means total dependence on God. When Adam sinned, he stepped out of God-dependence into in-dependence (which is unbelief). This is the reason God has placed such a high priority on faith. Faith is the way we come back into relationship with God (God-dependence). This dependence on God is called faith. Faith advances you beyond your five senses of seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching. Faith releases you from your limited capacities. By faith you move from in-ability to His – ability. This is the walk of faith to which all of us are called – where “nothing is impossible” (Matt 17 : 20 ).   A. WHAT IS FAITH   Faith is obedient action in response to what God has said. True faith is expressed in : 1)       Obedience and 2) Action in response to : 3)

Testimony

I gave up on  cycling after I had fall from it in my childhood days. However  always used to envy women behind wheels driving 4 wheeler &  2 wheeler  & always wished  to drive and/ or ride a vehicle.  When we shifted to our new home in Thane, God blessed us with a 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler.  With great effort and struggle I learned to drive 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler but always had a unknown fear gripping me when I used to drive or ride.  I never enjoyed driving so even after getting the license did not pursue it further.  However  I was always encouraged by verse Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me) & 2 Timothy 1:7 (for God has not given us a spirit of fear & timidity, but of power, love and self-control) and I very well knew that in all my weakness Jesus is my strength. My  faith in JESUS was to put to test when I had to drive my kids every week to my blessed church, I pursued it once again and lord strengthened me and now I driv

Why is Praising God Important?

Why is  Praising  God Important? The book of Psalms is the praise book of the Bible, and it gives us hundreds of reasons why praise is important, as well as examples of how to give praise to God.  In examining those reasons and examples, one thing becomes clear.  “It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High...” (Psalm 92:1). Praise is a good thing. That means it is pleasant, valuable, and morally excellent. Psalm 147:1 tells us that praise is beautiful and agreeable. When we consider the reasons why we should praise God, we find a list of His attributes.  He is full of glory (Psalm 138:5), great (Psalm 145:3), wise and powerful (Daniel 2:20), good (Psalm 107:8), merciful and faithful (Psalm 89:1), and much more. This list of attributes is complemented by a list of His wonderful works.  He is the One who saves us (Psalm 18:46), Keeps His promises (1 Kings 8:56), Pardons sin (Psalm 103:1-3), and Gives us our daily fo

Can We Give Like John Wesley?

Can We Give Like John Wesley? From the account books alone we see that John Wesley gave away between £ 30,000 and £ 40,000. He told Samuel Brad burn, one of his co-workers, that he never gave away anything less than £ 1,000 a year, and yet, when he died, his personal estate amounted to only a few pounds. When earning £ 30 a year, he lived on £ 28 and gave the remaining £ 2 to the Lord.  Next year his salary was doubled. He found that he lived comfortably on £ 28 a year, so, instead of raising his standard of living, he continued to live on £ 28 a year and gave the whole of his increase to God... So later God entrusted him with greater sums of money. Great people become great because they have great faithfulness and commitment for Gods kingdom, Is this is possible for us? Have faith in God Have trust in God for he can do all things, Have faith in God who solves problems we can’t, Have trust in him who selects Leaders and Kings, Have fait
