What is Holy Monday

Answer: In Christianity, Holy Monday is the last Monday prior to Easter Sunday; it is the second day of Holy Week after Palm Sunday. Some denominations celebrate Holy Monday, and some do not. The Eastern Orthodox Church observes the day, typically marking it with Bible readings and certain hymns. According to tradition, Holy Monday is the day on which Jesus cleansed the temple, was praised by local children, and cursed the fig tree (Matthew 21:12–22). It is the day following Palm Sunday, when Jesus came to Jerusalem in the triumphal entry (Matthew 21:1–11). The following day is sometimes referred to as Holy Tuesday, the third day of Holy Week. We should note that events in the biblical Gospels were not necessarily written in chronological order. Also, since the Romans and the Jews had different methods for calculating the start of a day, an exact sequence of events is difficult to determine. For these reasons, we can’t be dogmatic about the chronology of events leading up to Jesus’ b...

GRACE

GRACE   “With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and MUCH GRACE was with them all” (Acts4 : 33).   “From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch where they had been  COMMITTED TO THE GRACE OF GOD  for the work they had now completed” (Acts14 : 26). Why was the grace of God so important in the experience of the early Christians? Why did the church in Antioch pray that the GRACE of God would be upon Paul and Barnabas and later on Paul and Silas, as they set out on their missionary journeys?   A. THE MEANING OF GRACE   The most common understanding of the word “grace” is “God’s unmerited favor” in other words, even though we were sinners deserving of judgement God looked upon us in And forgave us.   This however is only half its meaning. It also means “God enabling power”. “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God  our Father who loved us and by ...

Testimony

I gave up on  cycling after I had fall from it in my childhood days. However  always used to envy women behind wheels driving 4 wheeler &  2 wheeler  & always wished  to drive and/ or ride a vehicle.  When we shifted to our new home in Thane, God blessed us with a 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler.  With great effort and struggle I learned to drive 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler but always had a unknown fear gripping me when I used to drive or ride.  I never enjoyed driving so even after getting the license did not pursue it further.  However  I was always encouraged by verse Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me) & 2 Timothy 1:7 (for God has not given us a spirit of fear & timidity, but of power, love and self-control) and I very well knew that in all my weakness Jesus is my strength. My  faith in JESUS was to put to test when I had to drive my kids every week to my blessed church, I pursued...
