Let's look at the life of David, it was David's faithfulness in the sheep pens that prepared him to shepherd the nation of Israel. God chose David and took him from the sheep pens(Psalms 78:70). Now the Sheep pen was a place of David's current assignment, He had a promise to become a king but he never despised his current assignment. But he remained Faithful where God has planted him and whatever he did, he did it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, singing Psalms to God, delighting himself in the Lord and encouraging himself daily in the Lord.
