WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD?
WE DON'T KNOW OUR OWN WAYS.
Jeremiah 10:23 “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own step.”
There are so many things that you don't have control and authority over; and the will of God isn't in man. That's why you need to seek the will of God. It's important because without that you cannot take decisions without being discouraged and confused. You should understand that your way isn't in yourself but in the hands of God, and that's why Jesus said,”I am the way, the truth and the life.”
WE WILL BE EQUIPPED TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD.
Ephisains 4:11-1 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,”
Advantages of the Five Fold Ministry-
Equip you to hear the voice of God.
Teach you to know your steps by reading the word of God.
Help you to know the will of God.
Jesus was in the centre of God's will. He was never in a problem because Jesus walked according to the Father's will. He knew the Father's way and his focus was on the directions of the Father. You don't know your ways and that's why the men of God will help you equip your ways.
GOD KNOWS OUR FUTURE.
Isaiah 46:10 “Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,”
God knows the end from the beginning. God is forever and has never changed. God said that he will do all His pleasure.
GOD HAS AMAZING PLANS FOR US.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Connect to God and not to man and his ways. The one who always thinks of you is God Almighty. What are thoughts of God for you?
Thoughts of peace. (If there's no peace, you aren't in God's will)
Thoughts about you.
Thoughts of better plans for your future.
Psalms 32:9-10 “Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.”
Wherever you go, you'll get grace and mercy, you'll get the favour of God because you trust in the living God.
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
We live in a godless system but since we're surrounded by mercy, there's a revival. We follow Jesus because there's no sin in Him and when we follow him, we will not sin.
IT IS WORTHWHILE TO DO GOD’S WILL
John 7:16-17 “Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.”
Every doctrine that Jesus spoke was from the Father God. He never spoke of His own accord. When Jesus healed someone, He spoke and the miracle happened. He had heard this from the Father and this reveales the Father's heart; which doesn't want any sickness in His people. If you need to speak like Jesus, you need to immerse yourself in His word.
1 Timothy 2:15 “But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.”
Paul is asking Timothy to reject certain doctrines and stories. Today, exercise yourself towards godliness by reading the word of God. Maintain holiness because then you'll make no mistakes.
How to develop godliness?
1) Read the word of God
2) Worship God.
