Secured Salvation.

Daily Word

7th October 2017 - Shruti Vanjare

“He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil: He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure.”

-Isaiah 33:15-16

Here, Isaiah is talking about the transforming power of God’s grace. God has a wonderful promise for you, when you walk in the way that He has appointed and directed; salvation is completely yours.
God has given us a few simple, but powerful tips which is going to be of great help on the road to salvation.

1) You need to walk righteously and speak uprightly. It's not only an outer change (walk), but God performs inner healing on us too. This is shown by the way we talk because, “What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them." (Matthew 15:11)

2) Despising the gain of oppression is another and refusing bribes comes next. When you're in the flesh, every profit that comes from oppressing others or the Word of God is considered a gain. But as believers we find no gain in oppression, we despise it. Saying no to bribes is important because God hates giving and taking bribes. Not only monetary bribes but also expecting and demanding something in return when you give is a form of bribery. “The wicked accept bribes in secret to pervert the course of justice.” (Proverbs 17:23) You should not fall into corrupt practices just to align yourself with the ways that are pleasing to men. Instead, live to please God and despise such things.

3) Even the thought of destruction or bloodshed should be eradicated. The word of God asks us to shut our ears and eyes to such things. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)

Therefore, if you follow this, God promises that you will dwell on high which signifies an intimacy and closeness with God. He will make sure that you're put in the highest of places, reputed and living in the standard that God has in store for you. Your place of defense will be the fortress of rocks and He will protect you from every fowler’s snare and deadly pestilence. (Psalms 91:3)

The closing verse says that your bread will be given to you and your water will be sure. Jesus is the Bread of Life and the Living waters, (John 6:35) and therefore your Salvation is surely secure in the name of Jesus.

Prayer-

Loving Lord Jesus, thank you for your word which is a lamp for my feet and light unto my path. Thank you for your never ending grace that surpasses all understanding which completes me. Help me to fulfill all your commandments and live according to the way that you have in store for me. Let your will be done in my life because you know what's best for me. Increase my faith with every passing day and help me to love like you have loved me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.
