Serve the people who can't repay you.

Then He also said to him who invited Him , "When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers , your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just." -Luke 14:12-14
Jesus' meaning is this: If we do things only to be paid back or rewarded in this life, we will receive our reward: but we shall receive no reward from God in heaven (Mt 6:1-4). So it is better to receive reward from God than from man because God's rewards last forever.
So when we invite those who are poor, crippled etc. we are inviting Jesus Christ himself and He will not leave us unrewarded.
Understanding two things here is important.
1) It is not wrong to invite rich friends and neighbours. The rich also need salvation, they need love. But we must invite them because of our love for them, not for what we gain from them.
2) We must not invite poor people only because we hope to get a reward from heaven. That is selfish. We must invite them because we love them.
We must remember how Christ invited us, called us, forgave us, loved us and so we must do the same to the least of His brothers.
Dear friends, since God loved us, we also should love one another (1Jn 4:11)
Prayer :
Heavenly Father,Help us to be Loving and Kind to others as you taught us in your word, remove all the selfishness and help us to serve people without any partiality, Thank you for your Word.
