WHAT IS MARRIAGE FOR?

The woman was created to be the man’s PARTNER. 

“So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
  But for Adam no suitable helper was found.”  Genesis 2:20

God created Eve from Adam’s rib; not from Adam’s skull and not from Adam’s feet.  This shows us that a woman is not the boss and she’s not a slave.  They are partners.

WHAT IS THE HUBAND’S/WIFE’S JOB?

HUSBAND’S JOB.   

Love wife like Jesus loved the Church (He died for it) – Ephesians 5:25

Protect wife – Ephesians 5:25

Be respectable – Proverbs 31:23 

Take care of wife – Ephesians 5:28 

Serve wife – Ephesians 5:29

Teach wisdom to his kids – Ephesians 6:4

Body is for wife’s sexual pleasure – 1 Corinthians 7:4-6

Remain faithful to wife – 1 Corinthians 7:24

WIFE’S JOB

Build up the family – Proverbs 14:1

Trustworthy to her husband; Strong & respectable – Proverbs 31:11; 25

Take care of the family; work hard for the family –Proverbs 31:21-22; 27

Teach wisdom to her kids – Proverbs 31:26

Respect & serve the Lord – Proverbs 31:30

Submissive to husband (like the Church is to Jesus) – Ephesians 5:22-24

Respect husband – Ephesians 5:33

Body is for husband’s sexual pleasure – 1 Corinthians 7:4-6

*This world says to you and it shows you that marriage is a temporary thing. 

You get married for the wrong reasons (‘fell in love’, had a child out of wed-lock, for sex, for money & security, for identity, etc.)
and then when you’re tired of it, or when you get what you wanted, you can divorce and it’s ok.  

This is WRONG and it destroys families!

FINAL THOUGHT: 

 Marriage is FOR  LIFE.  
The only way out of a marriage is by death or if a husband/wife commits adultery.
“A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives.
But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 7:39

“tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”  Matthew 19:9
