How do you get along with your parents?




What does the Bible say about changing what my parents say and kind of going around their rules?

Children

- You are a gift from God -
Psalm 127:3 – Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

- We want you to be happy, we really do -

- I want you to enjoy freedom - 

1 Corinthians 13:11– When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

Obedience goes a long way-

Proverbs 6:20-23 – “My son, obey your father's commands, and don't neglect your mother's teaching. Keep their words always in your heart.

Tie them around your neck. Wherever you walk, their counsel can lead you.
When you sleep, they will protect you. 

When you wake up in the morning, they will advise you.
For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you.
The correction of discipline is the way of life.”
